This is what we did in meeting today…
We welcome our newest sophomore senator, Miss Stephanie Mullen!
We talked about an initiative to revamp what has been known as Cardinal Term. There is a focus group on campus taking this on, but Senate plans to back it and possibly fund its initiatives in the upcoming winter break.
We talked about possible mold problems on campus. We are investigating these to make sure if they do exist that they get fixed quickly.
Student Life: tomorrow will be a safety walk at 7:30 pm. We’ll meet right outside the union to begin. The purpose of this is to find areas that could be made safer around campus. There used to be sprinklers around campus that sprayed onto concrete, and we have reports that this is fixed.
Communications: We have an open senior senator seat. If you are interested, come to our meeting next week!
Sustainability: Next week we’ll begin a campaign to raise awareness about hunger around the world. Look for PowerPoints and signs on trash cans around campus. We’re working on getting discounts for drinks in the perch for using your own mug.
Kansas City & Liberty: We’re continuing to compile discounts from the surrounding areas for students. We’re also looking into subsidizing either Sporting KC or Chiefs tickets.
Spirit: we’re going to be doing something for the next home football game. Be on the lookout for that!
Housing: You should be getting new shower curtains soon! We made sure the Alpha Gamma Delta chapter room got their TV replaced. We also scored Phi Gamma Delta a new vacuum. We’re working on getting more sustainable shower heads for some of the dorms.
